Newton Faulkner first entered our world back in 2007, when his debut album Hand Built By Robots rocketed up the charts all the way to the number one spot. Since then, the Brit nominated, acoustic virtuoso has toured relentlessly around the world and 2009 saw the release of his second full-length album, Rebuilt By Humans. Currently Newton is tour working towards his eagerly anticipated third album, Write It On Your Skin, due for release this July.

Faulkner now tours with an array of multi-media weapons; including cameras, backlit screens, organ pedals, kick drums and even a real working cassette tape player. As Newton states: “Touring is the best part for me, so being able to go out and give everyone a great and unique show is such an important aspect to think about”. To see Newton live is truly unimaginable and people are often quick to assume that there are backing tracks or some sort of musical wizardry going on behind the scenes. However the only magic that happens will be right there under your nose the whole time. “We don’t use any backing tracks, loop pedals, offstage performers or any of that stuff, what you see is exactly what you get.”

Guy Little Acoustic Guitar Magazine Editor

I’m pleased to officially announce that Wes Stanton, owner of Blaze Publishing Limited, has purchased Acoustic Magazine and its intellectual property. Blaze Publishing Limited is a specialist, niche magazine publisher based in the Midlands with a portfolio of titles across the hobby and enthusiast market. All subscribers will remain unaffected and continue to receive their copy of Acoustic.

I will be continuing to edit Acoustic, and I look forward to working closely with Wes and his team at Blaze during this transitional period, taking Acoustic to new heights.

It’s a super exciting time for acoustic music right now. We’ve got the whole summer festival season to look forward to, we’ve got some of the biggest names in music at our London Acoustic Guitar Show in September, we’ve got acoustic music dominating the radio airwaves and we’ve got brand new owners for the best (and only) magazine dedicated to everything acoustic. I take great comfort in knowing that the magazine has landed in the hands of such enthusiastic and dedicated people. It’s been a huge pleasure editing the magazine for the last 8 months, and it’s going to be a pleasure continuing my tenure in the new offices in Leamington Spa. There’s a huge amount of enthusiasm for this magazine that’s down to you guys, so I thank you for that and look forward to producing the best acoustic magazine available.

Blaze Publishing is a Warwickshire-based publishing company formed by Wes Stanton over 10 years ago. An early adopter of digital app technology for magazines, Blaze has also recently invested in equipment and expertise to do in-house video production, something owner Wes Stanton sees as an important part of today’s publishing mix.

Blaze’s magazine titles include Sporting Rifle, Clay Shooting, Bow International, Airgun Shooter, Modern Gamekeeping, Airsoft Action, Diesel Car, Morris Minor Magazine, Hair Fashion and Art of England;and the team are very excited to be taking on Acoustic, Bass Guitar and Drummer magazines from Oyster House Media.
